Weather Updates:
• Severe storms brought tornadic weather to several markets this past week, bringing power outages and road blockages from damage, as well as increasing flooding issues from already swollen rivers. Forecasts show significant storms starting from the Central South all the way through to the New England area for the remainder of the week.
• A storm heading to southern Florida has the potential to increase to a name Tropical Storm. With significant weather events such as this, transit embargoes to specific markets may come ahead of the arrival of the storm.

LTL Updates:
• For the third week in a row, diesel trended down to $5.539, however it is still up $2.284 YOY. The increased cost of fuel is being felt by all, from the carriers to the consumers, as the costs of goods transported and sold have increased along with price increases.
• Refinery maintenance put off from the pandemic is contributing to shortages as demand remains elevated for Diesel, with refineries running 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to try to keep up with the 90%+ utilization rate.
• Trailer scarcity is impacting carriers’ ability to expand capacity where needed and maintain solid on time delivery performance. As the demand for goods increases, Shanghai re-opens, construction, and agriculture seasons peak, trailer availability will be critical to remain consistent in transit management.
• Flooding, weather, capacity and embargoes are impacting lanes including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Fargo, Grand Forks, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, St. Louis and Wichita markets.
